1. Agreement to Terms

By installing KnightWriter, creating an account, or using any part of the service, you agree to these Terms and Conditions ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not install or use KnightWriter.

These Terms form a binding agreement between you and Fordhsons Studio, the operator of KnightWriter.

2. Description of Service

KnightWriter is a browser extension that provides real-time AI-assisted English correction and naturalisation. It operates as a Chrome extension and (from Month 3) a Safari extension. The service connects to third-party AI infrastructure to process correction requests.

KnightWriter is a software service. We do not guarantee that every correction will be appropriate for every context. You remain responsible for reviewing and approving any changes before submitting text in professional, legal, or other consequential contexts.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years of age to use KnightWriter. By using the service, you represent that you meet this requirement. If you are using KnightWriter on behalf of a company or organisation, you represent that you have authority to bind that entity to these Terms.

4. Account Registration

You must create an account to use KnightWriter. You agree to: - Provide accurate and current information - Keep your password secure and not share your account - Notify us immediately at hello@fordhsons.com if you suspect unauthorised access

You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.

5. Free Trial and Early Access

5.1 Early Access Period

When you first install KnightWriter, you receive a 30-day Early Access period at no cost. During this period, you have access to all features up to the applicable daily usage limit. At the end of Early Access, your account automatically converts to the Trial period described below. No payment information is required during Early Access.

5.2 Free Trial

After Early Access, you receive a 14-day free Trial with full access to all Pro features. No credit card is required to start the Trial.

At the end of the Trial period, your account will enter an expired state and KnightWriter will stop processing corrections until you subscribe. You will not be automatically charged. You must actively choose to subscribe.

5.3 Usage Limits

Free and Trial accounts are subject to daily and monthly usage limits as described in the extension and on our website. These limits may change with reasonable notice.

6. Paid Subscription

6.1 Plans

KnightWriter Pro is available as: - Monthly: billed monthly, current price displayed at checkout - Annual: billed annually at a discounted rate, current price displayed at checkout

Prices are displayed in USD and may vary by region. The exact price is shown to you at the point of purchase before you confirm.

6.2 Billing

Chrome extension: Payments are processed by Paddle.com, our Merchant of Record. When you subscribe, you are purchasing from Paddle, who remits payment to us. Paddle's terms of service apply to the transaction itself.

Safari extension (when available): Payments are processed by Apple through the App Store. Apple's terms apply to those transactions.

Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period unless you cancel before the renewal date.

6.3 Price Changes

We may change subscription prices with at least 30 days' notice. If you do not cancel before the price change takes effect, continued use of KnightWriter constitutes acceptance of the new price. We will notify you by email before any price change affects your account.

7. Cancellation and Refunds

7.1 Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period — you retain access until then. There is no penalty for cancelling.

To cancel: - Chrome (Paddle): Manage your subscription at [billing.knightwriter.ai] or email hello@fordhsons.com - Safari (Apple): Manage subscriptions via Settings → [Your Name] → Subscriptions on your Apple device

7.2 Refund Policy

Monthly subscriptions: No refund for the current billing period. Your access continues until the end of the period you paid for.

Annual subscriptions: If you cancel an annual subscription, you are entitled to a pro-rated refund for unused complete months remaining in your billing year. For example, if you cancel after 4 months of a 12-month subscription, you will receive a refund for 8 months.

To request a refund, email hello@fordhsons.com with your account email and reason. We will process eligible refunds within 10 business days.

Safari / App Store purchases: Refunds for Apple-processed payments are governed by Apple's refund policy. Contact Apple Support directly for App Store refunds.

7.3 Trial and Early Access

No payment is taken during the Trial or Early Access periods. There is nothing to refund.

You agree not to use KnightWriter to:

9. Intellectual Property

9.1 Our Property

KnightWriter, including its design, code, prompts, branding, and all associated materials, is owned by Fordhsons Studio and protected under applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works based on KnightWriter without our written permission.

9.2 Your Content

You retain full ownership of any text you submit to KnightWriter for correction. We do not claim any rights over your writing. As described in our Privacy Policy, your text is processed and immediately discarded — it is not stored or used for any other purpose.

10. Service Availability and Changes

We aim to keep KnightWriter available and reliable, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The service may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, updates, or circumstances beyond our control.

We reserve the right to: - Modify or discontinue features with reasonable notice - Change usage limits with reasonable notice - Discontinue the service entirely with 30 days' notice and a pro-rated refund of any prepaid subscription amounts

11. AI Output Disclaimer

KnightWriter uses artificial intelligence to suggest corrections to your text. AI outputs are suggestions, not guarantees. You acknowledge that:

Fordhsons Studio is not liable for any consequences arising from your use of AI-generated corrections.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:

Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be excluded under applicable Indian law, including the Consumer Protection Act, 2019.

13. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Fordhsons Studio from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of KnightWriter in violation of these Terms or any applicable law.

14. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of India, specifically the laws of the State of Maharashtra, without regard to conflict of law principles.

Dispute resolution: If you have a dispute with us, please contact us first at hello@fordhsons.com. We will make a genuine effort to resolve it within 30 days.

If a dispute cannot be resolved informally, it shall be referred to and finally resolved by arbitration under the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996 (India), with the seat of arbitration in Thane, Maharashtra. The arbitration shall be conducted in English by a sole arbitrator.

Notwithstanding the above, either party may seek emergency injunctive relief in the courts of Thane, Maharashtra to prevent irreparable harm.

If you are a consumer resident in the EU, you may also have the right to use the EU Online Dispute Resolution platform: ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.

15. Termination

15.1 By You

You may stop using KnightWriter and delete your account at any time by emailing hello@fordhsons.com. Account deletion will be completed within 30 days.

15.2 By Us

We may suspend or terminate your account if you: - Violate these Terms - Fail to pay subscription fees - Engage in fraudulent or abusive behaviour

We will notify you by email before termination unless the violation is serious (e.g. fraudulent activity), in which case we may terminate immediately.

On termination, your right to use KnightWriter ceases immediately. We will process any applicable refund per Section 7.

16. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email at least 14 days before the changes take effect. Continued use of KnightWriter after the effective date constitutes acceptance.

If you do not accept the updated Terms, you may cancel your subscription and request a pro-rated refund for any prepaid annual amount.

17. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Fordhsons Studio regarding KnightWriter. They supersede any prior agreements or representations.

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full force.
