Set your autocorrect
Silent doesn't mean out of your hands. The Settings tab controls everything: how corrections trigger, your English background, mixed-language translation, paste behaviour, and a per-site switch — exactly as it ships in the extension.

Text tones
Three pre-set tones, three real voices — not one voice with the volume changed. The tone is remembered per site, so LinkedIn stays formal while Discord stays friendly.

Contractions, shorter sentences, and the hedging stripped out. The version you'd send a colleague you actually like.
Formal
Full words, measured structure, no filler openers or sign-off padding. For the message that might get forwarded upward.

Impersonal voice, qualified claims, precise connectives. "I think this works" becomes "the evidence suggests this holds."
One undo, always

Think in two languages, publish in one. Hindi, Spanish, German, Chinese — type the sentence the way it comes out of your head, half your language, half English, and it lands as clean English. No translate tab, no copy-paste round trip.

Nothing is stored
Text is corrected in flight and discarded. There's no retention window to configure because there's nothing to configure — zero storage is an architectural constraint, not a policy setting.
Never training data
Correction runs on Google's Gemini API on a paid tier, where inputs are excluded from model training under Google's Cloud Data Processing Addendum. Google is listed as a sub-processor in our policy, not buried in it.
Sensitive fields ignored
Passwords, card numbers, OTPs and other sensitive fields are detected and skipped entirely — that text never leaves your browser in the first place.
Code is skipped, not scanned
Anything the engine can't classify as prose is excluded from the request payload — not sent and ignored, never sent. Your code blocks never make the trip.

Fair questions.
Pause for two seconds and the knight shows you exactly what changed — one click opens the side panel, where your original text is kept untouched and can be restored. KnightWriter is also deliberately conservative: it corrects errors and unnatural phrasing, it doesn't rewrite your ideas, your tone, or your slang. "gonna" stays "gonna" if that's your style.

Most writing tools are reviewers: they underline, you evaluate, you click. KnightWriter is an autocorrect: it fixes as you type and stays out of sight. And where grammar checkers stop at "technically correct," KnightWriter naturalises phrasing so your writing reads like a native speaker's — that's the whole reason it exists.
Healthy instinct. Text is processed in memory, corrected, and discarded — never stored, never used for training, never sold. Password, payment and OTP fields are skipped entirely, so that text never leaves your browser. The full privacy policy is written in plain English, and it's short.

No — there's a General profile that works for everyone. But if you pick the profile matching your first language, corrections get noticeably sharper, because the patterns worth fixing differ between, say, Korean-influenced and Spanish-influenced English. Profiles are currently in beta and improving fast.
